Tengs Valve supplies stainless steel cone type temporary filters in SS304, SS316, Duplex Stainless Steel SAF2205 and SAF2507. The cone type design provides a large filtration surface for pipeline commissioning, flushing and pump start-up protection. This temporary filter is mounted between two flanges as a wafer/sandwich element and removed after commissioning. It protects pumps, valves, meters and heat exchangers from weld slag, pipe scale and construction debris. Sizes range from 1" to 36". Pressure ratings include ANSI Class 150LB to 1500LB. Perforated hole sizes include 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, 5mm and 8mm. Mesh sizes range from 20 to 400. Duplex SAF2205 and SAF2507 are suitable for corrosive media such as seawater and chloride-containing service.

Why Choose a Cone Type Temporary Filter?

During pipeline commissioning, flushing and pump start-up, weld slag, pipe scale and construction debris can damage pumps, valves and instruments. The cone type temporary filter is installed between two flanges to capture these particles before they reach critical equipment. Its cone shape provides a larger filtration area than a flat screen, which means lower pressure drop and longer intervals between cleanings. For corrosive media such as seawater, Duplex Stainless Steel SAF2205 and SAF2507 offer higher resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking than standard SS304 or SS316.
