Tengs Valve supplies basket type temporary strainers and cone hat filters in stainless steel and duplex stainless steel. These temporary strainers are mounted between two flanges during pipeline commissioning, flushing and pump start-up, protecting pumps, valves, meters and heat exchangers from weld slag, pipe scale and construction debris. Sizes range from 1" to 36". Pressure ratings include ANSI Class 150LB to 1500LB. Screen materials include SS304, SS304L, SS316, SS316L and DSS. Perforated hole sizes include 1mm, 2mm, 3mm and 5mm. Mesh sizes range from 20 to 400. Customized sizes and materials are available on request.

During pipeline commissioning and pump start-up, weld slag, pipe scale and construction debris can damage pumps, valves and instruments. Basket type temporary strainers and cone hat filters are installed between flanges to capture these particles before they reach critical equipment. The basket and cone hat design provides a larger filtration area than a flat screen, which means lower pressure drop and longer intervals between cleanings. After commissioning, the temporary strainer is removed and the pipeline continues with its permanent filtration system.
